
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, is on an official visit to Egypt to enhance military and defence cooperation between the two countries, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir met with Egyptian Minister of Defence and Defence Production General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi. Discussions focused on regional security, mutual defence collaboration, and strengthening bilateral ties.

The Army Chief emphasized that Pakistan and Egypt share deep brotherly relations and that their cooperation will promote peace and stability in the region. Field Marshal Munir was given a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence and laid floral wreaths at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and the grave of former Egyptian President Mohamed Anwar Al-Sadat.
He also met His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, where they discussed the challenges facing the Muslim Ummah. The COAS underscored the importance of countering extremist ideologies and promoting true Islamic values.
