Published on: October 23, 2025 11:15 PM

The Lahore Arts Council’s Academy of Performing Arts hosted a mesmerising “Shaam-e-Mouseeqi” (Musical Evening) that filled Alhamra with rhythm, melody and emotion.

The evening celebrated the timeless beauty of Pakistani music and the enduring power of the performing arts to unite hearts through harmony and expression. The evening’s performances were a magnificent celebration of sound, with each artist leaving an indelible mark upon the hearts of the audience. From classical ragas to soulful ghazals and vibrant folk melodies, every note resonated like poetry in motion. The enchanting voices of Ustad Abdul Rauf, Zaimah, Ibtisam Zahra, Sarosh Tabassum, Abrar Ahmed and Sawera Nadeem captivated listeners. At the same time, young performers, including Usama Butt, Tahseen Sajid, Lawrence Yousaf, Joseph Yousaf, Asghar Gillani and Atif Ali, added a refreshing energy to the night.

Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, remarked that “Alhamra stands as a vibrant garden of art, alive with the colors and fragrances of creativity. The Academy of Performing Arts has become a living archive of musical wisdom, deepening its influence across society.”

Executive Director Alhamra, Mahboob Alam, stated that “Music is not merely an art form, it is the completion of culture itself. It refines our sensibilities and nourishes our souls. The large number of young artists at the Alhamra Academy reflects the growing commitment to preserving and evolving our musical heritage.”

The audience swayed with the rhythm of each performance, as if carried away by the whisper of strings and the fragrance of melody. The echoes of this musical evening lingered long after the final note, a testament to Alhamra’s unwavering dedication to the art of music and its power to awaken beauty within every soul.
