LAHORE – Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Aalia Neelum, on Thursday delivered a powerful ruling in a tragic child abuse case — upholding the death sentence of a man convicted of raping and murdering a six-year-old girl in Narowal.
The two-member bench, led by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Abhaher Gul, dismissed the appeal of convict Qaiser, stating that such criminals deserve no mercy for committing crimes that destroy the innocence of children and instill fear in society.

In her 20-page written judgment, authored by the Chief Justice herself, the court remarked: “At the age of six, little girls play with dolls and are unaware of the materialistic world, while the convict, aged 32, was fully aware of the consequences of his gruesome act.” The judgment added that such crimes shake the conscience of society and must be met with the strictest punishment to serve as a deterrent.

According to the case record, the incident occurred in 2018 when the victim’s father sent his daughter to the convict’s house to fetch a pair of pliers. The child never returned. Her body was later recovered from the convict’s residence, and DNA and forensic reports confirmed his guilt. The Narowal police registered the case, and the trial court sentenced the accused to death, a decision now upheld by the Lahore High Court.
