Pak-Kazakh joint military exercise ‘Dostarym-V’ underway

Published on: October 16, 2025 4:54 PM

Pakistan and Kazakhstan have started their joint military exercise Dostarym-V at the Special Operations School in Cherat, Pakistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the exercise focuses on counterterrorism training and enhancing cooperation between both armies. The opening ceremony was held on October 14, 2025, with senior military officials from both sides in attendance. The exercise aims to strengthen defence collaboration and build professional excellence through joint training.

According to the ISPR, Pakistan’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Kazakhstan’s Special Forces are actively participating in the exercise. Both teams will share their field experience and expertise to improve coordination in counterterrorism operations. The training includes advanced tactics, close-quarter battle drills, and simulated missions designed to refine response strategies against modern threats. The exercise will continue till October 24.

Moreover, the ISPR highlighted that Dostarym-V reflects the strong defence partnership between the two friendly nations. Through these joint activities, Pakistan and Kazakhstan aim to boost trust, understanding, and mutual respect among their forces. The training also helps both sides learn new techniques in handling counterterrorism situations effectively.

The joint exercise serves as a platform for professional growth and strategic cooperation. It enables soldiers from both countries to work together under real-time operational conditions. Such collaborations enhance interoperability, improve tactical decision-making, and promote long-term military ties.
