On Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s directions, survey to ascertain damages of flood affectees is in full swing in flood-affected areas across Punjab.
She appreciated survey teams for making untiring efforts, and further directed them to ensure complete transparency in conducting the said survey. She asserted that she would not tolerate denial of due rights to any flood victim at any cost.
Director General PDMA released an updated report on the ongoing flood survey. According to a report, 1602 teams comprising 10,000 members have conducted door-to-door surveys, collecting details of 61,016 flood victims in 27 flood-affected districts. Data regarding crop losses from 42,120 farmers has been compiled, while 50,421 acres of flood-affected land have been identified. Additionally, survey teams have gathered information on 18,086 damaged houses, and have registered 810 individuals who lost their livestock. Details of 5813 perished animals have also been recorded.
DG PDMA apprised that survey teams, including members from Urban Unit, Livestock, Agriculture, Revenue departments and personnel from Pakistan Army are vigilantly collecting door-to-door data. He added that financial assistance for flood victims will begin next week through Bank of Punjab after carrying out the due verification process. In line with the CM vision, all flood affectees will be compensated for their losses.
