PTI applauds Western nations’ move to recognise Palestine

Published on: September 23, 2025 4:53 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has warmly welcomed the historic decision by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to officially recognise Palestine as an independent state, calling it a landmark victory for justice and peace. The party praised the recognition as a crucial step towards securing the long-denied rights of the Palestinian people, urging global leaders to follow suit. PTI said that this move signals a powerful shift in international opinion and strengthens the cause of Palestinian self-determination amid escalating violence in Gaza.

In its statement, PTI emphasised that the recognition of Palestine represents an important moral and diplomatic win for oppressed communities worldwide. The party noted that granting recognised statehood would not only boost Palestinian morale but also help pressure Israel to end its violent actions in Gaza. PTI further stated that the world can no longer remain silent as bombings and massacres devastate Palestinian families, calling on nations to act collectively to halt what it described as blatant genocide.

Moreover, PTI highlighted that the international community has a legal and moral duty to ensure Palestinians’ rights to freedom and sovereignty are respected. It warned that inaction would only embolden aggression and prolong the conflict. The party urged world powers to take effective, coordinated measures to prevent further bloodshed, support diplomatic negotiations, and safeguard the basic human rights of those trapped under siege.

Reaffirming its solidarity with Palestine, PTI vowed to continue supporting the Palestinian cause until their freedom and dignity are fully restored. The party expressed confidence that the decisions by the UK, Canada, and Australia would inspire other nations to adopt similar stances, strengthening efforts to end decades of suffering. PTI underscored that genuine peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without recognising Palestinian statehood and addressing their struggle for justice.

Additionally, PTI called on international institutions to ensure accountability for war crimes and humanitarian violations in Gaza. It stressed that recognising Palestine is not only a political milestone but also a moral imperative that upholds global values of equality, fairness, and human rights. By standing firm on this principle, PTI said, the world can pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
