An international delegation of Buddhist Monks paid a detailed visit to the historic Badshahi Mosque in Lahore. The delegation was shown various sections of the mosque, including the ablution area, the main prayer hall and the spacious courtyard. They were also introduced to the unique architectural feature of the mosque’s wall that allows sound to travel clearly from one end to another. The mosque administration briefed the delegation on the historical significance and architectural grandeur of the Badshahi Mosque, constructed in the 17th century during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir. The Buddhist priests admired the mosque’s magnificent architecture and its spiritual ambiance, calling it a symbol of Islamic heritage in the subcontinent. They remarked that the visit was not only a cultural experience but also a valuable opportunity to better understand interfaith harmony and coexistence in South Asia. At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation extended their goodwill and best wishes to the people and government of Pakistan, appreciating such cultural exchanges as a means of promoting dialogue and harmony among different religions and civilizations.
