
The United Kingdom has pledged £3 million in aid to support Pakistan’s flood-affected communities. The announcement came during a meeting between British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.
The officials discussed bilateral relations, high-level cooperation, regional stability, and relief efforts in monsoon and flood-affected areas. The British High Commissioner expressed solidarity with Pakistan and assured full support for flood relief and recovery.
Jane Marriott confirmed an immediate emergency aid package of £3 million, alongside commitments for further humanitarian assistance in the future. The gesture aims to provide urgent relief to millions affected by recent monsoon floods.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar thanked the British government and people for their timely support and solidarity. He emphasized that Pakistan deeply values the cooperation extended by the UK during this challenging time.
The aid from the UK is expected to assist Pakistan in addressing urgent humanitarian needs and rebuilding flood-hit regions as the country continues recovery efforts.
