President Zardari awards Nishan-e-Imtiaz to UAE naval chief

President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, Commander of the UAE Navy, in a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday.

During the event, President Zardari exchanged views with the UAE Naval Chief and emphasized the strong and growing bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He highlighted the award as a recognition of the commander’s distinguished services.

The President praised the UAE Navy’s active participation in the Aman Dialogue 25 and Aman Exercise 25, noting the collaborative efforts that strengthen regional maritime security. He also assured continued support for UAE Navy manpower requirements in the future.

Commander Alremeithi shared that he is an alumnus of the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, reflecting the longstanding military cooperation and educational ties between the two countries. His visit underscores the deep naval collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE.

The ceremony was attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, former National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and former Senate Chairman Nayyar Bukhari, highlighting the importance of the occasion and diplomatic engagement at the highest level.

President Zardari lauded the brotherly ties between the two nations, emphasizing that such awards strengthen mutual trust and cooperation. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering strong defense and maritime partnerships with the UAE in the years ahead.
