Pakistan’s explosive batter Fakhar Zaman has achieved two major milestones in T20 International cricket. During the ongoing tri-nation series in Sharjah, he became the sixth Pakistani to play 100 T20I matches and the fifth to cross 2,000 runs in the format.
The milestones came during Pakistan’s match against Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Fakhar reached these achievements as he walked out to bat in the fourth match of the series. He made his T20I debut in 2017 and has since been a key figure in Pakistan’s white-ball cricket setup.

Fakhar joins an elite list of players with 100 or more T20I appearances for Pakistan. The list is led by former captain Babar Azam with 128 matches, followed by Shoaib Malik (125), Mohammad Hafeez (119), Shadab Khan (112), and Mohammad Rizwan (106).
With over 2,000 runs now to his name, Fakhar Zaman becomes the fifth Pakistani batter to reach the mark. His career also includes 11 half-centuries in T20Is. In his 100th match, he scored 25 runs off 18 balls, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent Pakistan from losing.
Pakistan was defeated by Afghanistan by 18 runs in that match. The victory has almost guaranteed Afghanistan a place in the tournament final. Pakistan will now face UAE on September 4 and may once again meet Afghanistan in the final on September 7.
