Air Chief, PM Shehbaz praise PAF’s precision strikes

Published on: August 26, 2025 4:18 PM

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday. The prime minister praised the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its steadfast role in defending the country’s sovereignty. Calling the PAF a “leaden wall,” Shehbaz said the force had always protected Pakistan with courage and skill. The two also discussed professional matters related to the air force during the high-level meeting.

The prime minister paid tribute to the “falcons” of the PAF, noting their historic performance during conflict. He recalled how the air force downed enemy aircraft and delivered heavy blows during key operations. Shehbaz said their bravery in the face of threats continues to inspire national pride. The PAF’s operational readiness, he added, is crucial to Pakistan’s defense doctrine and regional stability.

Separately, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb spoke at a joint press conference alongside Army spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif. He claimed the PAF had achieved a “comprehensive 6-0” victory against India in recent hostilities. The statement marked a rare official assessment of Pakistan’s air dominance in the latest conflict with India. Aurangzeb thanked Allah Almighty and credited the PAF’s leadership for guiding the force to success.

Aurangzeb said the PAF had acted swiftly and decisively, neutralizing all hostile threats from India. He highlighted that Pakistan’s air defense systems intercepted drones, missiles, and even a BrahMos missile aimed at a city. Electronic warfare teams played a vital role by jamming Indian drone signals and disrupting communication systems. These countermeasures, he said, were carried out with high precision and minimum collateral damage.

He emphasized that Pakistan’s response was accurate and well-targeted, unlike India’s, which endangered its own citizens in Amritsar. Hypersonic weapons, drones, and other advanced systems reportedly struck enemy targets with full effect. Aurangzeb said these successful operations demonstrated Pakistan’s air superiority and readiness to respond to any future threats.
