The federal government has approved the recruitment of 3,229 new constables for the upgraded Federal Constabulary to boost national security efforts across Pakistan. This move follows a recent presidential ordinance that officially transformed the Frontier Constabulary into a centralized federal force. The decision aims to modernize law enforcement and ensure better coverage across all provinces and regions of the country.
To maintain fair representation, the recruitment will follow a quota system across different areas. Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will each receive a 20% share, which means 646 constables from each province. Meanwhile, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has been given a 10% quota, Gilgit-Baltistan 6%, and Islamabad Capital Territory 4%, ensuring balanced inclusion from all corners of the nation.
Applicants between the ages of 18 and 22 years can apply for the constable positions. Candidates must have completed their matric (SSC) or intermediate (FA/FSc) with at least a second division or its equivalent. The eligibility requirements are designed to attract qualified individuals who meet both physical and educational standards.
Physical fitness is a crucial part of the selection process. Male candidates must be at least 5 feet 10 inches tall, while the minimum height for female candidates is 5 feet 5 inches. This physical standard reflects the importance of having a strong and capable force ready to serve under demanding conditions.
Furthermore, all applicants will go through a series of tests, including physical fitness assessments and written examinations. These evaluations will ensure that only the most suitable and prepared candidates are selected for the force. The transparent selection process is intended to promote merit and professionalism.
Overall, this recruitment drive is a major step toward building a stronger, more responsive federal security force. With the inclusion of all regions and strict recruitment standards, the upgraded Federal Constabulary is expected to play a vital role in improving law and order across the country.
