A sudden fire broke out on Raiwind Manga Road near the Social Security Hospital in Lahore on Monday, triggering panic in the area. Thick smoke rose into the sky as emergency services responded quickly to control the blaze and prevent further spread.
Rescue 1122 officials said the fire erupted in an open plot being used as a storage site for shopping bags. The flammable material intensified the fire, but timely action by firefighters helped bring the situation under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Emergency vehicles and fire trucks reached the spot within minutes and started cooling and extinguishing operations. Residents nearby were urged to stay clear of the area while teams worked to contain the flames. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

In a separate event, a PTI-led protest rally was held in Lahore demanding the immediate release of party founder Imran Khan. The rally followed instructions from PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and drew a large number of supporters.
The protest was led by Elahi’s sister, Begum Sameera Elahi, along with Begum Kousar Muhammad Khan Bhatti and Liaquat Ali Bhatti, President of PTI’s Kisan Wing from Mandi Bahauddin. Participants carried placards with slogans supporting Imran Khan and Pervaiz Elahi.
Supporters raised loud chants calling for justice, expressing solidarity with Kashmir, and demanding an end to political victimization. The demonstration concluded peacefully under tight security, with party leaders vowing to continue peaceful protests until their demands are met.
