Iranian envoy calls PM Shehbaz’s hospitality a historic gesture

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, expressed deep gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for their warm welcome to the Iranian President and his high-level delegation. He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s hospitality, calling it historic and unforgettable, and highlighted the emotional connection shared between both neighboring nations.

In a post on platform X, the Iranian envoy thanked Pakistan’s leadership for their exceptional arrangements during President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit. He especially acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s role in creating memorable moments, stating that his efforts greatly contributed to the success of the visit. The ambassador noted that this warmth reflected the deep-rooted bond between the two countries.

He also thanked President Asif Ali Zardari for hosting the Iranian delegation at the Presidency and appreciated the dignified presence and cooperation of Army Chief General Asim Munir. According to the envoy, their support played a vital role in making the state visit productive and impactful on all diplomatic fronts.

Furthermore, he extended his appreciation to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and his professional team at the Foreign Ministry. Their efficient coordination and high-level planning ensured the smooth execution of the entire visit. He also mentioned Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for their heartfelt hospitality in Lahore, calling it truly special.

Reza Amiri Moghadam thanked ministers and political leaders including Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Khawaja Asif, Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Raza Hayat Hiraj, and Attaullah Tarar. He praised their dedicated efforts in enhancing bilateral ties and helping finalize twelve major memorandums of understanding across multiple sectors.

The ambassador reaffirmed the shared cultural, historical, and strategic relationship between Iran and Pakistan. He emphasized the mutual commitment to increasing bilateral trade to $10 billion and stressed his personal dedication—along with his team—to work tirelessly in turning this shared vision into a meaningful reality for both brotherly nations.
