Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a major power show on GT Road today. A joint parliamentary party meeting was called at KP House in Islamabad to plan the event. The meeting began at 10:30 AM and included both MNAs and MPAs. KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also hosted a breakfast for the lawmakers before the rally.
According to sources, Ali Amin Gandapur will lead a large convoy of over 300 vehicles toward Lahore. The convoy will travel via GT Road in a show of political strength. PTI aims to energize its supporters and begin its nationwide protest movement through this rally.
This rally follows a recent meeting between PTI’s interim chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and party founder Imran Khan. The meeting, held at Adiala Jail, came after over a month of attempts. During the meeting, Imran Khan called for a nationwide protest campaign to begin.
Imran Khan has planned the movement to peak on August 5. That date marks two years since his arrest. The GT Road rally is seen as the first big step in this campaign. PTI leaders are using this event to demonstrate unity and public support.
In a strong message posted on his X account, Imran Khan rejected any further dialogue. He said the time for talks was over. His call signals a clear shift toward street politics, with today’s rally marking the start of a new phase for the party.
