ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates to enhance cooperation in security, counter-narcotics, and immigration while pushing for easier visa access for Pakistanis.
During his meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Naqvi discussed key bilateral matters, including improving work visa facilitation for Pakistani citizens. He stressed that visa relaxation would bring significant relief for many families.
Naqvi received a warm welcome at the UAE Ministry of Interior, where he was honored with a guard of honor and introduced to top Emirati officials. The discussions also covered collaboration in using modern technology, including artificial intelligence, to combat emerging security threats.
Later, Minister Naqvi toured Abu Dhabi Police’s advanced operations center. He was briefed on their high-tech surveillance and crime prevention systems and expressed keen interest in implementing similar models in Pakistan to improve urban security.
Senior UAE officials including Major General Salem Ali Al Shamsi and Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi were present, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and other diplomats. The visit highlighted mutual trust and growing ties between the two nations.
Concluding the visit, Naqvi described the UAE-Pakistan relationship as a “national asset” and said Pakistan remains committed to building stronger cooperation in all areas, especially public security and citizen welfare.
