Tensions rise: US, UK, and China urge citizens in Qatar to stay safe

Published on: June 23, 2025 9:40 PM

The United States, United Kingdom, and China have told their citizens in Qatar to stay in safe places. These alerts were issued after Iran warned of a possible response to any U.S. attack on its nuclear sites. The embassies of these countries sent messages to their citizens, advising them to take extra care. They have been asked to remain alert and follow safety instructions strictly.

The U.S. Embassy in Qatar sent an email to American citizens, urging them to stay in secure places until further notice. The embassy did not mention a direct threat. However, this message came shortly after Iran made strong statements. Iran warned that any attack on its nuclear plants would not go unanswered. This created fresh concerns in the region.

Qatar quickly responded to the situation. The Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Majid Al Ansari, said the country’s security is stable. He added that no specific danger has been reported. According to him, the government is fully prepared to protect everyone in Qatar. It will take all needed steps to keep citizens and residents safe.

Meanwhile, the British government issued a similar warning to its citizens in Qatar. They have also been asked to avoid public places and stay indoors. Likewise, the Chinese embassy gave the same message. Chinese nationals in Qatar were advised to follow safety rules. All three countries stressed the importance of caution during this tense time.

Notably, Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base is home to around 10,000 American soldiers. It is the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East. This makes Qatar a key location during any regional conflict. Due to these factors, any rising tension in the area draws international attention. Thus, embassies remain alert and ready to protect their people.
