The Balochistan government has announced a record-breaking Rs 1,028 billion budget, the largest in its history. Finance Minister Mir Shuaib Noshirovani presented the budget during a session chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai. For the first time, the province has introduced a budget that crosses the trillion-rupee mark. Notably, the budget also includes a surplus of Rs 42 billion. This move signals improved financial planning and spending by the government.
While presenting the budget, Minister Noshirovani shared that the province successfully used all of its development funds this fiscal year. He added that progress was seen in several sectors, proving that the government’s development plans are working. The new budget builds on these gains, aiming to strengthen long-term growth. This reflects the government’s serious push for better governance and planning.
Earlier this month, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti had said the budget would focus on real needs, not politics. He clearly stated that health and education are top priorities. Importantly, he promised that there would be no funds for politically driven projects. This approach aims to make development efforts more fair and focused on public welfare.
The chief minister also assured that the final version of the budget would include advice from the parliamentary committee. He said this would help make the budget more inclusive and balanced. Additionally, Bugti emphasized that transparency would guide all fund allocations. He made it clear that every district would be treated equally, without favoritism.
Provincial spokesperson Shahid Rind backed this approach, saying the budget is designed to help poor and remote areas grow. He stressed that both social and economic development are key goals of the new budget. With a clear focus on fairness and growth, the Balochistan government hopes to bring real change to its people.
