ISLAMABAD: A three-member delegation led by the Nepalese Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodee Prasad Yadov visited the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday at Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad. Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza welcomed the distinguished guests and termed the visit as beneficial one to learn from the experiences of each other and sharing the expertise to deal with the common challenges. The delegation was briefed in detail about the overall structure, functions and mandate of the ECP including training and appointment of the polling staff, preparation and development of electoral rolls and printing of ballot papers. Dr Ayodee lauded the ECP over the successful conduction of local government elections in Pakistan. He told that as Nepal has not conducted local government for the last eighteen years, therefore, this visit would help the Nepalese Election Commission in undergoing the exercise of local government elections in Nepal.
