Crossing borders : Saba Qamar to make Bollywood debut alongside Irrfan Khan

Published on: April 10, 2016 8:51 PM

Model and actress Saba Qamar has dominated Pakistan’s drama industry for long hence it came as no surprise when the actress admitted she will star in an upcoming Bollywood project.

According to details, Saba Qamar will star in an upcoming Bollywood project with none other than the ‘Jurassic World’ actor Irrfan Khan.

According to Qamar, the movie is similar to Irrfan Khan’s earlier ‘Piku’ venture and in it, she plays the Bollywood actor’s wife.

“It’s a family-oriented story of a husband and wife. It has a young, fresh vibe and the wife is a little dominating. People will surely like it,” she said. “The film is a little like that Deepika film ‘Piku’,” she added.

For the time being, Qamar has her hands full as she is busy shooting for her upcoming movie ‘Lahore Se Aagey’, which is the sequel of ‘Karachi Se Lahore’. The actress had earlier made her debut as Noor Jehan in last year’s ‘Manto’.

Qamar’s upcoming Bollywood debut will be directed by Saket Chaudhry, who has also directed ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ and ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’. The movie will be produced by Illuminati Films, which has churned out films such as ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Love Aaj Kal’.

Qamar is a Pakistani model and actress. Her versatility and professionalism has made her one of the most critically acclaimed and loved actresses in Pakistan. She has appeared in a variety of television dramas and advertisements.

In 2010, she played a politician in PTV’s drama ‘Jinaah Ke Naam’ opposite Sami Khan. After that she appeared in ‘Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoole’, a romantic drama opposite Ahsan Khan. She has played roles in ‘Pani Jaisa Piyar’, ‘Jo Chalay To Jaan Se Guzar Gaye’, ‘Mein Chand Si’ and ‘Thakan’. She has appeared in the hit 2015-16 Hum TV dramas ‘Digest Writer’, ‘Kaisay Tum Se Kahoon?’ and ‘Sangat’.
