NEW DELHI: Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag teased Shoaib Akhtar after India’s rout of Pakistan in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey, Indian media reported on Wednesday. They were bitter rivals on the cricket pitch and continue to do so even after retiring from the game. Sehwag, getting increasingly popular with his comments as a TV analyst, teased Shoaib on twitter after India handed Pakistan a 5-1 defeat in a round-robin league match of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia on Tuesday. Just like his belligerent batting, Sehwag’s no-holds-barred comments have become a rage in the media. His comparison of Virat Kohli’s batting firepower with golis (bullets) being fired along the India-Pakistan border made headlines during the T20 World Cup. Sehwag did not miss the ‘mauka’ (opportunity) to mock at Shoaib after India’s emphatic Sultan Azlan Shah victory. Contrary to his explosive temperament, Shoaib took Sehwag’s bouncer on his chin and did not react with vengeance. A feared bowler during his time, Akhtar, now a TV commentator, ‘forgave’ Sehwag for the jibe.
