From mehndi to marriage vows : Bipasha and Karan Singh Grover’s wedding celebrations in full swing

Published on: April 29, 2016 11:12 PM

After a roaring bachelorette and much excitement over the last few weeks, model and actress Bipasha Basu’s wedding celebrations with beau Karan Singh Grover are finally in full swing.

The bride-to-be, celebrated her mehndi yesterday and turns out the rumours about the theme were true. Juhu’s Villa 69 transformed itself into a rose-hued wonderland for the event. Bipasha Basu even matched her ensemble to the setting, picking a rose-print Anushree Reddy lehnga, complete with floral headgear and pearly pink nails. Basu looked like a million dollars in a sequinned pale gold choli and a pink lehnga on her mehndi. She accessorised her look with jewellery as well as phool gehna. She wore a tiara and a bazu band made of flowers. While her beau was seen in an angrakha kurta pyjama.

There to congratulate the couple were close friends including Shilpa Shetty-Kundra, Shamita Shetty, Sophie Chaudhry, Anusha Dandekar, model Candice Pinto and designer Rocky S.

While Basu and Grover’s wedding will take place today, the pre-wedding events were celebrated in full swing. Thursday was family time with briddhi – a pooja held according to Bengali rituals, Friday saw friends and family dancing and enjoying. Dressed in a pink sari with kundan jewellery, Basu looked like a radiant bride-to-be as she posed for the camera with Karan and friends and family during the pre-wedding pooja ceremony.

Karan, wore a white kurta. The duo were either making funny faces or laughing uproariously in the images, that’s when they are not looking dreamily into each other’s eyes. And as promised by their wedding invite, Instagram updates and hashtags, it is going to be a ‘Monkey Wedding’. Even their gifts came with monkey motifs!

On the day of the wedding, a haldi ceremony will be held in the morning, while the wedding will be held according to Bengali rituals in the evening. The event will take place in a south Mumbai hotel.
