ISLAMABAD: A senior doctor using his brutal force kicked the patient out of the surgical ward 5 who had lodged a complaint against him with Vice Chancellor of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), well place source told Daily Times. The doctor namely Professor Atif Naeem Shami expelled the patient Zulfan bibi from the surgical ward without taking into account the critical condition of the patient who was suffering from serious ailment of gall bladder disorder. Zulfan Bibi 60 years old came from far flung area of Murree after suffering from critical condition and she was admitted in the hospital for operation. The doctor on duty including Dr Atif Naeem Shami demanded 20 thousand rupee from the patient as bribe for conducting operation that enraged the patient who knocked the door of VC for justice. He submitted an application with VC Dr Javed Akram alleging that a gang of criminals in the guise of doctors has been demanding of her the bribe more than 20,000 rupee for conducting her operation. The application moved by her is also available with Daily Times showed that there is a gang of doctors active in the PIMS who are looting poor patients for providing them medical treatment. When Daily Times contacted with Professor Atif Naeem Shami, he did not attend the phone call or replied to the message. On the other hand, when reporter contacted with VC PIMS Professor Javed Akram, he took the notice of the incident and gives the show case notice to relevant doctor. Meanwhile, Secretary CADD Hassan Iqbal said that this is serious problem and we will conduct inquiry of this incident.
