The screening report of 33 healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses & paramedics, who were quarantined after performing their duties in isolation wards of COVID-19 patients in Ayub Teaching Hospital has been declared negative, while three doctors and a police moharar at Dunga Gali Police Station was declared positive. Dr. Ahsan Aurangzeb, Medical Director AMTI told the newsmen that hospital administration has made laboratory testing of all the staff members including doctors, nurses & paramedics who were posted in the isolation ward of COVID-19 patients, all 33 were declared negative. He told that earlier they have been sending their cases to different laboratories for testing but now ATH has its own state of the art laboratory where they have not to wait for a long time. He while confirming the corona positive cases in three doctors including a Deputy Medical superintendent Dr. Aurangzeb categorically told that two TMOs Dr. Amir Hamza & Dr.Rehman Bahadur were interacted with a female patient from Havelian inward without knowing that she was corona positive while the DMS has got the virus from outside. He confirmed that report of DMS Dr. Jamil has been declared negative & termed the report baseless as reported by a section of press that his test report was positive. It may be pointed out that Dr. Aurangzeb who has been doing private practicing in Lohar Banda in Mansehra which is considered a hot spot where a number of cases have been reported positive. District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad Javed Iqbal Wazir also confirmed the test report of Mohair Dunga Gali Police station as corona positive. Mohair Wahid has been quarantine in District Headquarter Hospital. DPO further told that police have taken all the precautionary measures in Dunga Gali police station and taken the test of the rest of the personals which result is awaited. Meanwhile, DIG Police Hazara Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman along with DPO Abbottabad Javed Iqbal Wazir inspected the different bazaars of the city to check the precautionary measures taken by traders as committed to meeting with police officials. DiG Police appreciated the traders’ initiatives for social distances to control coronavirus. While talking with newsmen during his visit, DIG Hazara said that steps taken by traders to control coronavirus were exemplary & can be replicated to other districts as well which not only saves their own life but also enable them to protect others. He asked the traders to avoid gatherings, use mask & gloves, and ensure cleanliness in & out of their markets. No doubt, traders & shopkeepers have been facing financial hardship at this critical time but their lives are more precious than anything else, he remarked adding that only those shops would be allowed open who were allowed by the government. Earlier Traders along with a staff of Tehsil Municipal Administration led by Tehsil officer Regulation Mazhar Muzaffar made circles for social distances in front of the shops & markets. Accompanied with the anti-encroachment squad, they sealed few markets on public complaints and sent behind bar violators SOP of lockdown.
