Lady polio worker injured in Larkana

LARKANA: Polio worker Sughra Lashari was injured in firing from pistol by Kashif Khokhar in Lahori Muhalla here on Thursday. She was shifted to Chandka MedicalCollege Hospital. Kashif, resident of Larkana was handed over to Civil Lines police station by the people. The 25-year Sughra Lashari wife of Arbelo was on polio duty with her co-worker Sadoran Shaikh. Sadoran told newsmen at Accident & Emergency Department of CMCH they were knocking door of a house near Ali Baba School in Lahori Muhalla when Kashif fired which hit her right thigh. We started running asking people for help. People handed over Kashif to Civil Lines Police and took Sughra to CMCH Casualty where doctors said her condition was out of danger,” said Sadoran.

District Focal Person for polio eradication, Dr. Abdul Wahid Tagar told Daily Times it was their fourth day of administering anti-polio drops to under 5-year kids of Larkana. He said teams go in morning door to door and vowed to continue in future. SHO Civil Lines PS Asghar Jarwar said accused stated he wanted to marry Sughra but she married another person. “For this I wanted to kill her and then commit suicide.” Police is probing and no case was registered till filing of this report.
