FAISALABAD: Over 100 proclaimed offenders (Pos) have fled the country or hiding in tribal areas because of negligence of the Faisalabad district administration. According to police sources, the accused who have fled the country include former SHO Farrukh Waheed and his accomplice Asif Iqbal, alias Nomi Butt, involved in the killing of Bhola Gujjar, a close aid to Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. They are reportedly hiding in the United Kingdom (UK). The district police have failed to obtain red warrants for them despite having all required documents. A police meeting, which reviewed the number of fugitives and steps for their arrest, was told that the number of accused, wanted to police in terrorism cases, had also reached over 110. The accused include 17 of Civil Line police, Jhang Bazaar police 7, Gulberg police three, Peoples Colony police 6, Nishatabad police 2, Sargodha Road police 6 and Khurrianwala police 6. According to police sources, eight terror accused are hiding in tribal areas, 14 in Dubai, one in Kenya, two in the UK and 18 in Afghanistan.
