ISLAMABAD: The government has allegedly refused to disclose details of expenditures incurred on medical treatment of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif abroad. During the session of the National Assembly on Monday, Pakistan People’s Party lawmaker Musarrat Rafique Mehesar said the treasury members were reluctant to give details of expenditures incurred on the prime minister’ medical treatment during his stay in London. However, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq directed the government to give details of the expenditures in this regard. Meanwhile, the House was told that the Pakistan International Airline (PIA)’s chief executive was an Indian national and his wife was serving in the Indian Airlines. The National Assembly was told that the Pakistan Railways was purchasing 55 engines from the United States and an agreement had been signed between two countries. It was also told that Pakistan Railways’ profit had soared to Rs 36 billion from Rs 18 billion during the last three years.
