LAHORE: Advisor to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Dr Yasmin Rashid has said Pakistan cannot become a sovereign and democratic country unless the corrupt rulers and state system were not held accountable. She said that PTI would go to any extent to hold Nawaz Sharif accountable for stealing national wealth, evading taxes and laundering money abroad to purchase expensive properties. Addressing the masses at a corner meeting on Wednesday, Dr Yasmin Rashid asserted that the PTI would not let the government function and would shutdown Islamabad by closing all main roads. She said Nawaz Sharif did not learn anything from the past and is still desecrating the so-called “public mandate”, adding that all those, who ridiculed the constitution and law, have now become the centre of mockery. “The whole nation is demanding accountability of all those who looted national wealth,” she added. Dr Yasmin Rashid said the rulers should understand the public demand and explain their position in the wake of Panama leaks before it’s too late. Nawaz Sharif has time to present himself and his family for accountability till November 2,” she added. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart and former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the International Human Rights Commission’s (IHRC) report on Kashmir is enough to call India a terrorist country. “Kashmiris are being tortured in Indian jails,” he said, adding sacrifices of more than 94,000 people would not go to waste come what may. Addressing a seminar as part of his party’s Kashmir campaign, hosted by Mian Ali Ahmed Sufi in London, Sarwar said abuse of human rights by India is a slap on face of Muslim countries and international community, as the coming generations and history would not forget their criminal silence. According to report issued by IHRC, Indian army has assassinated 94,598, arrested 1,37,469, and widowed 22,826 women, besides raping 10,717 women in 27 years. The PTI leader on the occasion paid rich tributes to the courage and valour of Kashmiris. “It’s beyond any doubt that sun of Indian oppression will drown soon. India cannot suppress the voice of Kashmiris, as Muslims of the entire world were standing with the Kashmiris,” he added.
