LANDIKOTAL: The monitoring committee expressed their deep concern over the poor performance and lack of basic facilities at state-run educational institutions, health centers and other social sector departments. Headed by the political TehsildarLandikotal, IrshadMohmand an observing committee comprised of six members including Assistant Agency Education Officer (AAEO) Haidar Ali, Ahmad Nabi, journalist, DrIlyasAfridi, an official of health department, Ahkhta Ali, member of civic society and tribal elders of the localities paid a surprise visit of Loy-Shelman, the remote bordering area of tehsil Landikotal and examined different government-run schools (male and female), Civil Dispensary (CD) and veterinary center located in DurmaKor, NazirKillay, Musa Killay, AsifKillay, KhyalGulKillay and Abdul HaleemKillay. The visitors expressed their due concern over the constant absentees of the teaching staff and health officials and recommended departmental action against all irregular officials. Through a joint written statement, the team of observers also asked the departments concerned to provide all necessary facilities including potable water, uninterrupted power supply. They also demanded recruitment of the science and other subject specialist teachers to the high schools of Loy-Shalman. It is pertinent to be mentioned here that on the direction of high ups, the local administration of Landikotal had formulated a watchdog committee to keep an eye on the affairs of the government departments.
