KARACHI: The Sindh Government has declared the murder of renowned Qawwal Amjad Sabri as a sectarian killing. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah told media on Monday that two target killers involved in Amjad Sabri’s murder and other crimes had been arrested by the counter terrorism department (CTD). Sindh’s CM, while addressing a press briefing held at Central Police office (CPO) Karachi, said that the CTD has arrested Isehaque alias Bobby and Asim alias Capri hailing from Lashkar-i-Jhangvi-Naeem Bokhari group during a raid in the city’s Liaqatabad area. Murad said that 3 SMGs, 27 Pistols, 2 hand grenades, 2 MP5 rifles seized by police constables and other explosive material has been recovered from the arrested terrorists, adding that after forensic reports of the recovered weapons, it has been proved that the arrested terrorists were involved in 28 crimes. On October 29, they attacked a Nazimabad majlis in which 5 people were killed. On October 17, they attacked another majlis on July 26 attack on army personnel in Saddar. On June 22, 2016, they shot and killed Amjad Sabri. In reply to a question CM, Sindh said that no leader is involved in any case, adding that Faisal Raza Abidi has been arrested on the basis of keeping illegal arms. “The terrorists have confessed that excluding these activities, they killed 12 more police constables and 7 Shia persons,” said the CM. Those who attended the event include Inspector General of Sindh Police Allah Dino Khuwaja, Karachi Police Chief Mushtaq Mahar, Inspector CTD Raja Umar Khitab, and others.
