ISLAMABAD: The Mayor Islamabad and the Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA) will inaugurate the Cycle Lanes at the Constitution Avenue on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. In this connection a colourful ceremony will be organised at the Foreign Office Roundabout Chowk which will be participated by people from different walks of life including people from the print and the electronic media. Demarcation of segregated cycling lanes in Islamabad is being carried out in implementation of the action plan of Islamabad Green Charter so that damages to the environment caused by the increasing traffic could be controlled by promoting the bicycle culture in the federal capital. In the first phase the cycle lanes are being demarcated at Constitution Avenue, School Road (F-6), Margalla Road (F-6/F-7) and the 7th Avenue which will be later on replicated across the city. In order to further promote bicycle culture in the city, the construction of cycle tracks at F-9 Park has also been planned.
