One more Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) patient has been reported at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, taking the reported cases toll to nine in this hospital since January 1, 2019. A 29-year-year-old man, Zahid, resident of Orangi Town, Karachi was brought to the emergency department with fever and gum bleeding. The patient was moved to Isolation Room in Ward 23. The patient is Congo positive and he is butcher by profession. Executive Director, JPMC, Dr Seemin Jamali, said a total of nine Congo infected patients had been reported in the hospital this year so far out of which five were cured and discharged, two died, one left against medical advice (LAMA), and one is admitted to the health facility.
