ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS) has given the date of December 16, for completion ofDeoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Test of PIA plane crash victims atHavelian. The bodies in the form of segregated body parts and flesh of 48 persons, who died in the air crash, were brought to PIMS,Islamabad from Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad in 59 coffins. The doctors at Ayub Medical Complex had put the DNA sample in theglass jars in each coffin. Moreover those items, which were availablewith the dead bodies were also kept in the coffins.So faridentification of some eight persons was made possible. The Executive Director of PIMS Dr Altaf told this scribe that thehospital administration requests all the relatives of the deceased togive at least one week’s time for completion of DNA tests.
