The Commissioner Larkana Division Muhammad Saleem Raza Khuhro has directed the divisional officers of Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, Local Government Departments and other relevant officers and Larkana mayor to implement in letter & spirit, directions of the Water Commission without loss of further time. He was presiding over a meeting in his office here on Friday. He directed the officers to stop releasing sewerage water into canals forthwith. The sewage water must be treated at the oxidation plants before releasing. He also directed the concerned officers to make functional all RO Plants in their respective areas so that people could benefit from these plants during hot weather. He said weekly water test of those plants must also be carried out which are running so that it could be ensured that safe drinking water is supplied to the residents. Commissioner Khuhro further directed the Irrigation Department engineers to ensure cleansing of all canals and Larkana mayor was directed to maintain cleanliness in the city. Mayor Aslam Shaikh demanded provision of land for establishing cattle farm. It must be mentioned here that residents have established large number of small and big cattle farms amid the city. These have become a nuisance for the residents due to which traffic jams during peak hours have become daily issue besides cleanliness problems. People have been demanding shifting of these farms to Otha Chowk side as the development is going on there since years.
