An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of a case pertaining to the murder of Maulana Azam Tariq, as the prosecution disclosed before the court that complete record of the case was summoned in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a petition seeking cancellation of Sibtain Kazmi’s acquittal from the case approved by the ATC. The hearing resumed in the court of ATC-II judge Shahrukh Arjumand, and investigation officer Inspector Akram Nagra, who was summoned for testimony, was also present in the court. The court at the prosecution’s request adjourned the hearing until May 6 and also directed the prosecution for producing the witness on the next date of hearing. Some 13 suspects were booked in the murder case Azam Tariq, who was gunned down by assailants in 2003 in the limits of Golra police station.
