Taking a lesson or two from Bear Grylls’ survival in forests

Published on: February 24, 2019 12:39 AM

Bear Grylls was born on June 7, 1974 in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland. His real name is Edward Michale Grylls. He grew up in Donaghadee until the age of four, when his family moved towards Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. He is the son of conservative politician sir Michael Grylls and lady Sarah Grylls. Bear Grylls has one sibling, an elder sister, Lara Fawcett who gave him the nickname of Bear, because he from his childhood liked adventures. He got his education from Eaton House, Ludgrove School and Eton College, when he helped start its first mountaineering club. He studied Spanish and German at the University of West of England and at Birkbeck University of London, where he graduated with a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree.

However, on May 16, 1998, Bear achieved his childhood dream of climbing to the summit of Mount Everest in Nepal. Furthermore, he wished to join the Indian army but unfortunately, having no identity card of India, he was rejected, so he enrolled in the British army. In fact, he is known as a writer as he has also written some books. Bear’s first book Facing Up described his expedition and achievements climbing to the summit of Mount Everest. His second was Facing the Frozen Ocean. His third book was Born Survivor. He also wrote an extreme guide to outdoor pursuits, titled Bear Grylls. He also wrote the mission survival series of children’s adventure survival books titled Gold of the Gods, Way of the Wolf, Sounds of the Scorpion, Tracks of the Tiger and Claws of the Crocodile.

He has written two thriller novels as well. Most importantly, he is also a television presenter for the sake of spreading knowledge about jungles on how they can survive and come out from those dangerous forests without having any facilities. He is widely known for his television serial ‘Man vs Wild’. In his TV shows, he suggests what to do and what not to do for stay alive in the jungle. In fact, he visited several forests of the countries which were too dangerous. Besides this, he meandered with many stars in the jungle and trained them. Once he wandered with former United Stated president Barack Obama, because of a problem which was affecting the world as well as which can create troubles in the future. And outside of TV, Bear works as a motivational speaker, giving speeches worldwide to corporations, churches, schools and other. In 2000, he married Shara and he has three children, Percy Grylls, Jocelyne Grylls and Jesse Grylls.

It’s true that all his shows are brilliant. I really appreciate this person who has been trying to provide great knowledge to the people and I know so much about jungle life and of forests by watching his shows.
