PESHAWAR: The President Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) Jamil Ahmad Chitrali has call for end to the involvement of ministers in the affairs of University and termed the grant of two billion rupees by Chief Minister not enough for the university. The PUTA conducted its executive body meeting in which President PUTA criticized the involvement of Members of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for interfering in the procedure and layout of the university acts and other issues of land which validate the attempts of provincial government to intervene in the affairs of university administration. He added that the Chief Minister’s grant of two billion rupees for the University of Peshawar is not enough for which VC has credited the Chief Minister and his cabinet members who cautiously dragged UOP to see the Provincial government in the courts. He clarified that other smaller universities were given worth billions by the same CM while the provincial government was able to allocate just two billion rupees for the oldest and most versatile university of the province. The pending cases in the Peshawar high court and the involvement in Aza Kheil Botanic Garden was valid proof for political monopolization of political government, he said.
