Would love triumph over family politics?

‘Aatish’ is currently an on-going drama on Hum TV, starring Hina Altaf and Azfar Rehman. It is written by Shagufta Bhatti.

It is produced by Momina Duraid and was aired on Hum TV first on August 20, 2018.

The story begins with a girl named Asma who is an orphan and was left by her mother to a lady named Azra Manzoor, to take care of her. As Asma’s father was an alcoholic, her mother feared that he might sell her someday. Eventually, Asma starts living with Azra and develops a fondness for household chores instead of studying.

Drama serial ‘Aatish’ focuses on a love story between two people belonging from different sects of society, being torn apart by family norms

She considers herself a family member but others treat her like a maid. Azra’s grandchildren and the rest of the family arrive from the United States to get their eldest son married to a girl from a well-bred family. The family wants Asma to get married to the driver so she could remains in their home forever. The youngest son treats Asma like a servant. She gets deeply hurt by thinking that no one considers her a part of the family. Later Shehryar falls in love with Asma and they get married secretly. Shehryar’s mother Naureen and his aunt Madiha Rizvi degrade her in every possible way.

They both are unaware of their marriage but Shehryar leaves for US to complete the paper work. An undue accident lands Shehryar in a coma. When Asma gets to know about it, she spills the truth of her marriage with Shehryar and later she discovers that she’s pregnant. Shehryar’s aunt plans to get him engaged to her sister. Shehryar’s mother Naureen promises Madiha Rizvi for her sister to get married to Shehryar when he comes back from US. It’s very hard for Asma to believe. Azra who took care of Asma plans to get her out of the house to live with another family hoping Shehryar will forget her. He wakes up from coma in the meantime. Asma suffers but hopes that Shehryar comes back to her soon.

Later, when Shehryar comes back from US, he begins searching for Asma. However, his family creates stories to divert his attention. He leaves for the northern areas to clear his head. There, he sees Asma living with another family.

This creates more suspense for viewers to stay tuned and watch what happens next on Monday.
