PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chitral chapter leaders demanded C- 30 aircraft for district Chitral from the ruling party Chief and Prime Minister Miya Mohammed Nawaz Sharrif. Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, PML-N president Saeed Ahmad Khan said asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to initiate C-130 service for the people of Chitral who were facing hard times due to the closure of Lowari Top. He was accompanied by Muhammad Kosar and other party leaders. He said that Lowari Pass, linking the Chitral valley with other parts of the country remains closed to traffic in winter due to heavy snowfall. He further said that opening of the Lowari tunnel for two days of in a week was not enough to cope with the rush of passengers in winter. He demanded that tunnel to be opened for more than two days in a week in a bid to decrease the rush of the passengers. He said that Prime Minister should approve C-130 flights to the district keeping in view the rush. On this occasion, they also criticized provincial government for not granting land to the federal government for hospital in Chitral. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during his visit to Chitral, apart from other development projects, had approved a hospital for the district.
