An impressive yet simple inauguration ceremony of DHA grid station was held on Tuesday in DHA Phase-6 Lahore. DHA Administrator Lahore Brig Muhammad Sajid Khokhar graced the occasion as the chief guest. LESCO Chief Executive Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha and senior officers of DHA Lahore attended the ceremony. In his speech, Brig Sajid Khokhar, said, “DHA Lahore has expanded from 34,000 kanals to 300,000 kanals and this has increased the demand for the continuous and uninterruptible power supply. DHA has proposed 21 grid stations, including 1 of 220 KV. Four grid stations are already under approval. Six are under construction and one grid station is already energized.” He added, “Today we are going to energize 132KV Grid Station in Phase-6 with the approval and assistance of LESCO. Its design was approved by Design NTDC. This 132KV grid station consists of 32 kanals and its total cost is Rs 350 million. DHA Lahore has energized the grid station in 3-years time with the technical and financial assistance of LESCO. After energization of grid station, LESCO will manage its operation and maintenance. Transmark was engaged as contractor of this project.” The project will facilitate DHA Phase-6 and Phase-7 residents and provide them with uninterrupted and stable power supply as well as strengthen LESCO to face the difficulties and lessen its burden for the energy shortage. Earlier in his speech, Brig Sajid Khokhar also said that DHA Lahore had started many projects of international standards. He remarked that he was engrained by the efforts of DHA Chief Engineer Branch in achieving and maintaining high standards of construction and development.
