LARKANA: A policeman was looted of his official weapon by unknown armed men near Mirpur Bhutto on Saturday. The police constable Abid Veesar is posted at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto police station and was returning home after performing his government duty at the police station when he was suddenly stopped by unknown armed men who deprived him of his official rifle and fled from the scene. After getting the news, policemen from Naundero, Mahotta, Garhi Khuda Bux and Ketty Mumtaz police stations acted swiftly and reached the spot and started following footprints of the criminals. The footprints led the police to village Agha Dahani near Dakhan of Shikarpur district. The police searched all houses of the village and other nearby villages and arrested two men and four women but failed to recover the looted weapon. The Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Naundero Shahjahan Shah and Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Larkana Shabir Sethar were contacted but they did not attend the phones. Police arrest alleged murderers The Larkana police, on Saturday, claimed to have arrested three accused namely Niaz Abro, Waryam Abro and Qurban Abro from an area near Bakrani. The accused were wanted by the police in three murder case which took place two days before the 2018 general elections. The police said that the main accused in the case Pir Bux Abro was already arrested from Quetta and further investigation into the matter is underway. Published in Daily Times, September 7th 2018.
