LARKANA: Prof Dr Bilquis Malik, the 89-year-old first gynecologist of upper Sindh who played an active role in the establishment of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital for women in Larkana, has been indisposed and admitted in the surgical ward (Intensive Care Unit) of the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for the last three days, and then shifted to her home after her condition improved. Meanwhile, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Moazam Ali Abbasi visited her and inquired about her health, and later MPA Suhail Siyal came to her residence. Bilquis was born on February 20 in 1929 in Sialkot city of Punjab. She did MBBS from the Dow Medical College in Karachi in 1958, and subsequently went to United Kingdom (UK) for her higher studies and then moved to United States of America (USA) for advanced courses in gynecology and obstetrics, and returned to Pakistan in 1972.
