ISLAMABAD: Indian troops again violated the ceasefire agreement on Monday and carried out unprovoked firing in Zafarwal sector of the Working Boundary near Sialkot. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel started unprovoked firing at 8:30am on Monday, but the Punjab Rangers responded effectively and silenced the guns of the enemy. Sources said that the Punjab Rangers targeted Indian checkposts from where the fire was coming. Due to this strong response, firing from the Indian side stopped immediately. Security sources said that the Punjab Rangers high-ups raised the matter with the local Indian BSF commander and recorded their protest over the unprovoked firing and also demanded an investigation.
