Sindh Rangers claimed that they arrested five suspects during raids in various parts of the metropolis on Tuesday and recovered weapons, drugs and looted valuables from their possession. A spokesman of Rangers said that personnel conducted operations against outlaws in Jamshed Quarters, Mehmoodabad and Gulshan-e-Maymar and arrested five suspects allegedly involved in street crime and robberies. Rangers claimed that weapons, looted goods and drugs were also recovered from possession of detainees. According to the spokesman, the suspects are currently under interrogation and further investigation is underway. Separately, Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) claimed that they arrested five suspects and recovered smuggled goods worth millions of rupees from their custody during a raid on Monday. According to the PCG spokesman, officials stopped three trucks and checked them during a raid on Super Highway. “Coast Guard recovered 9,900 packets of Indian Gukta, 100 cartons of imported cigarettes, 236 bags of betel nut and miscellaneous smuggled goods from the three trucks,” alleged the spokesman. Meanwhile, Kalakot Police claimed that they arrested two suspected target killers belonging to Zahid Ladla Group of Lyari after an encounter. Reportedly, a raid was conducted based on an intelligence tip in Khaji Gali. The police claimed that during the raid, suspects opened fire on the police and the police fired back in retaliation. Resultantly, two suspects namely Sajid and Faraz were arrested and a cache of illegal weapons was seized from their possession. West Zone Police during raids, snap checking and patrol in the area, claimed that they arrested 31 suspects involved in theft, drug peddling and other crimes. According to the police, 8 kilograms (kgs) of hashish, illegal weapons, a snatched motorcycle and several stolen cell phones were recovered from the custody of the suspects. In another raid, PIB Police in Purani Sabzi Mandi arrested a suspected drug peddler, later identified as Nazeer Ahmed, and recovered one kg of hashish from his possession. According to police, Nazeer Ahmed was involved in other criminal activities as well. Separately, East Zone police claimed that they arrested a bike snatching gang. Police claimed that they recovered spare parts and engines of stolen motorbikes from the suspects’ custody.
