Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday vowed to resolve public complaints on priority basis and issued stern directives to all departments and institutions to address problems of the general public ‘on the spot’. Reportedly, he revealed that the Punjab government has decided to establish a state-of-the-art complaint cell at the CM Office and the cell would be connected to all districts using modern technology with an “open door” policy where people could approach concerned officers to lodge their complaints without any restrictions or hurdles. “I will monitor the complaint cell myself,” he said, adding that the people’s issues were his own and he would go to every extreme to resolve those problems. The CM said that the provincial government has been working on the 100-day reforms initiated by Prime Minister Imran Khan and asserted that several committees have been constituted to implement 15-point reforms concerning the province. “I have assumed the office as a common man of Punjab and it is time for all institutions and departments to strive for development and prosperity of the nation,” he said, adding that all departments have to perform their respective duties with sincerity and responsibility or otherwise, delays, negligence, incompetence and irregularities would not be tolerated in resolution of public complaints. “Interests of people are connected with the 100-day reforms and so I am personally monitoring this programme,” he said, revealing that several development projects were initiated without proper planning in the past while no attention was paid to resolve issues of people. Several people, who called on the CM, lauded his efforts and said that Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar has made his office public where they could contact him directly for resolving their issues.
