KHYBER: The Al-Khidmat Foundation on Tuesday organised a wheelchairs distribution ceremony for differently-abled persons in Landi Kotal town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Reportedly, Landi Kotal Tehsildar Shams-ul-Islam participated as the chief guest of the event, whereas Al-Khidmat Foundation Khyber Chief Qari Said Hakeem Shinwari, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) local leaders, tribal elders and members of civil society were the guests of honour. Shams-ul-Islam distributed 15 wheelchairs amongst differently-abled persons, and lauded efforts of the foundation for providing humanitarian services to needy people across Pakistan. He said that volunteers of the foundation have been rendering remarkable relief efforts in response to natural disasters or emergencies. He further extended support to the foundation and maintained that its charitable efforts have improved lives of many poverty-stricken families across Pakistan. Meanwhile, Qari Hakeem asserted that 122 wheelchairs had been provided to differently-abled persons in Khyber district and expressed hope that remaining persons would also be facilitated as soon as possible.
