ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Ch has challenged filed petition against his disqualification in contempt case. The petition was filed by Talal’s legal counsel advocate Kamran Murtaza. Talal in his petition urged court to cancel the verdict. The petition states disqualification verdict was announced without proving accusations in the court. Talal Chaudhry had been disqualified for five years in contempt of court case by the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). Chaudhry was convicted of contempt of court and sentenced until the rising of the court. A fine of Rs100,000 was also imposed on him. A three-judge bench of the court, headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed, announced a short verdict in the contempt of court case that was reserved on July 11. They ruled that Talal Chaudhry has been found guilty of contempt of court during speeches at public gatherings and failed to provide evidence against the accusations levellled against him.
