
Provincial minister for Health Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho said that non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were playing a positive role in the provision of better health facilities to patients across Sindh.
Lauding the role of NGOs while talking to the media during her visit to Civil Hospital, Karachi on Friday, the health minister said that the NGOs were coordinating with the Sindh Health Department to ensure the provision of quality healthcare to patients.
Dr Pechuho visited many wards of the hospital including the children ward where she talked to the patients. MS civil Hospital and other relevant officials accompanied her on her visit.
During her visit, Dr Azra shared that the Health Department was working hard on formulating an immunization program for the children of Sindh. “However, there is a dire need to expand the scope of this immunization program,” she added. Pechuho also urged the certified NGOs to step forward and aid the government.
Dr Pechuho further informed the media that health facilities were better in Sindh compared to other provinces. “We are committed to improving the health sector to facilitate citizens in need,” she added.
