Over population

Published on: August 26, 2018 1:38 AM

Sir: In recent general elections held on 25th July¸ The election Commission of Pakistan has given an estimated expense that Rs. 158/- has been incurred per voter for around 10.5million voters in Pakistan.

The citizens of Pakistan have already wowed the IMF loan instalments which are exceeding the limit of payments on time due to borrowings from IMF consistently since years of time. It has been stated that every citizen in this country is loan payer of IMF which is definitely an alarming situation for all. In such a dread situation, what a citizen thinks about future life and survival so that one can live with peace and satisfied respectful life.

Over population is one of the major issues facing our country these days where we have lack of resources and no any control on births. It is obvious that limited and compressed resources cannotfulfil the basic needs and fundamental rights of citizens of any country. Unfortunately, the government has been unsuccessful to provide basic needs to its citizens even though, every 5th year census has been delayed and held after 18years recently in 2018 that evident how it is serving the country with sincerity and responsibility.

After all, the census results are not accepted by provinces, specifically in Sindh province. One live example is the shortage of sacrifice animals brought into Karachi city as they were brought according to the population figures given by the concerned department but the ground reality is totally different than counted and considered.

As Pakistan is an Islamic country where the followers of Islam are in majority and they live their life according to the teachings of Islam to be followed by Holy Prophet(PBUH).

They believe in no control of new births and leave it on Almighty Allah that results in average 5-8 births in a single family even though they don’t have proper arrangement of finance to fulfil at least basic needs of the family which results in lack of resources, unemployment, uneducated and poor economical and social conditions of our country. In such a dependent situation, we cannot follow China Model of one family-one child or two children are enough (bachy do hi achhy). I personally believe that if we cannot contribute our enough services to our homeland then at least we can control on new births up to two children a family. I appreciate whose citizens who even are not interested to get marry or they plan to have two children.

They are really contributing much more by minimising and saving the resources for other citizens. The Government of Pakistan in this case, can take an initiative to at least revise the current census results and work out the 25years plan for huge population so that each and every citizen can get basic needs and rights with great honour to proud as a respectable Pakistani.
