LAHORE: People have shown concern over security arrangements made at the weekly bazaars and said that law enforcers should have deployed more officials at such public places, especially after recent bombings across the country. Talking to Daily Times at Shadman and Model Town Sunday bazaars, several visitors said that no proper security arrangements had been made by the police and other departments concerned for the protection of citizens at the makeshift markets. They also expressed their disgust over the working of the makeshift markets and said that prices of vegetables and fruits available at Sunday bazaars were very high, while their quality was low. They said that goods being offered at the weekly markets were not very good in quality but the vendors were still demanding prices of high quality goods. They said that vendors put on display good quality goods in the morning but after a few hours replace the same with second grade items without changing the price tags. They said that rates were almost the same in makeshift markets and in the local area shops. They said that local vendors did not follow the rates that were being issued on a daily basis by the Market Committee Lahore, while the situation was not different at Sunday bazaars.
